You're right, Master Surinen. She does look way too much like a Dunmer. I've been contemplating on my commission for a while now and I came to the same conclusion. What colour would you give her? I am a lore-fan, but no where close to knowing everything, therefore I would like to hear your input.
Personally I am a real fan of pale skin; because it's frickin' awesome.
And as far as I know Altmers can be pale, but needs some sort of golden-tint.
Thank you, for comfirming my suspicions. Although, it was rather harshly done.
the answer lies within golden tint - mostly, but if we want to choose detailed route then: 1. facial bone structure is not exactly on Mer level, while the cheebones resemble them, forehead, eyebrows do not, not at all. 2. eyes: whites should share the colour of iris. and yes, there are gold skinned Mer who become vampires - although I would never call them as "Atlmer". they are betrayers and breathers of lower cultures. by the way, Altmer do not believe ine ight, its imperial religion. they have their own Pantheon
drawing is of course done very well, but I do not comment techniques nor skills. I find it TES standards faulty.
Ok, you're obviously just extremely Altmer-loving; which I can understand, they're awesome. But the only thing I can see wrong is the skin colour, but that can be excused as she is, in the picture, within a forest which could apply a tint to the skin. Also, who says every Altmer believe in the mainstream-Altmer Pantheon? I was not interested in the faults of her personality, because personality changes as live goes on and is not decided by race.
tl;dr Thanks for making be aware of the skin tone mistake, but you really have no right to critize the characters personality; not all Altmers are the same; no induvidual of any race are. :3
personality is just an echo of a birth-in culture and civlisation eaten by digits. mythic history shows that the only loyal of Alinor's children remained Altmer and those who abandoned their faith and culture became lesser and lesser. Race is a very good indicator of character traits.
it is not only skin, forehead is also different. thanks to millenias of noble eugenics infanticide, yes, Altmer are pretty much the same, mirrors of Aldmer
I doubt it is impossible for her to have grey skin, though. There is a severe lack of in-game, and lore based, information regarding Altmer-vampires, though, seeing as most Altmers don't need vampirism for anything; and with them already living long, their faith in the Eight and their, awesome, obession with perfection.
So I don't think Arquen, this Altmer here, conflicts with the lore. But I do think one could argue some parts of it.
